Speaking about the company's plans, Ms. Shradha Suri, Executive Director, Fibcom India elatedly shared, "Today I feel proud about Suri Group's Acquisition of Fibcom and Expansion in Telecom Equipment domain. The Suri Group's foray into Telecom has started in year 2000 with establishing PrimaTelecom, mainly an access Domain company. In year 2005, Suri Group identified Telecom Equipment as the main thrust areas for expansion and Acquired Fibcom, to leverage growth offered in India during Golden 10 years with 10% annual growth rate expected from 2005  ~ 2015.  The acquisition process started in July, 2005 and was completed by April, 2006". 

A well established player in this domain, FIBCOM is a leader in optical transmission products (SDH/DWDM), integrated network solutions and telecom infrastructure development projects. Fibcom India Limited was established in 1994 as a joint venture between ITI and Tellabs. The company has a technical collaboration with Tellabs, US .  Tellabs is a  Global leader with niche Products in all major Telecom Segments from  Access and backbone network with revenues of over 2bn. US$.

Working towards making sure that it has a long list of satisfied customers, Fibcom is one of the first companies in the country to set up local manufacturing in India for SDH and DWDM for fibre optic based products. The Company has state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and testing infrastructure.  Fibcom's local presence backed by its manufacturing infrastructure adds extensive value to the customer in terms of quality, cost and delivery.  

Adding a lot of big telecom customers to its clientele, Fibcom's capability to deliver from concept to commissioning is unmatched and the Company has undertaken several turn key contracts covering design engineering, supplies, installation and commissioning for Railways, BSNL, MTNL, GAIL (Network spanning 2000 route kms) and the Private Sector covering TTSL and Idea. The Company today supports an installed base of over 40,000 nodes all India via its Sales & Service Offices spread over Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. 

Further to add to the statement of Ms. Suri, Mr. D M Reddy, Director, Fibcom India remarked, " Post this acquisition, Fibcom has made commendable achievements and shown exponential Growth.  The Turnover has gone from 35 crores in 2005-06 to 65 Crores in 2006-07 to 120 Crores(Projected) in the current year.  As a company, last year it introduced 6325 – worlds' smallest fully featured MSPP (Multi Service Provisioning platform) supporting SDH, PDH and Data services. It has been an Astounding success way beyond expectations. With these products, the company has captured a big market share with orders totaling Rs. 100 Crores in the past 6 months," he added.

Keeping in mind, the high demand for the IP based solutions, Fibcom has also launched a range of new data product lines (IP and MPLS) in association with Tellabs.  The Multiservice data products are special kind of products from which any to any kind of services can be delivered like ATM/IP/TDM/FR and diff. Kind of networks can be made from the same products like, IP MPLS backbone, Metro Ethernet, Triple Play, Aggregation Network etc. 

In order to remain competitive in this highly technology driven market, Fibcom has set up a Tech Centre in association with Tellabs to develop and launch a number of new Products and Service for Indian customers.  This Tech Centre is expected to grow to 200 people team from present strength of 40 people. 

As the company has expanded its customer base in the region, during the past 18 months, Fibcom has set up offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata to offer services close to the customer.

Today India is regarded by a lot of Industry analysts as one of the fastest in the telecom arena. According to telecom experts in this region, living upto its reputation of being one of the fastest growing telecom markets of the world, India will continue to attract big global players in this region.

Increasing the tele-density is one fo the biggest agenda not only for the government but also for big telecom players in this region. Because of a big population, even after achieving the tele-density of more than 16 per cent, there is a huge potential and need for the country to increase its connected population many folds and the overall telecom industry is working towards achieving this objective. And companies like Fibcom are likely to play a major role in terms of bringing the overall tele-density to greater levels and by also helping the telecom players move up the value chain.

Moving forward, Fibcom will also be setting up 150,000 sqft.,  state-of-the-art facilities at an investment of Rs. 40 crores in Gurgaon during the next 18 months.  The land for the facilities has already been allotted by HUDA. With all these plans in the future, the company is surely going to have a bright future ahead.
